Saint Lucia Set to Welcome CARICOM Leaders for July 2026 Summit

GROS ISLET, Saint Lucia – Saint Lucia will host the 51st Regular Meeting of CARICOM Heads of Government from July 5-8, 2026. The summit will take place in Gros Islet and be chaired by Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre, who officially assumes the CARICOM chairmanship on July 1.

The opening ceremony kicks off July 5 at 4:00 p.m. ECT at Sandals Saint Lucia. Speakers will include the incoming CARICOM Chair PM Pierre, outgoing Chair Dr. Terrance Drew of St. Kitts and Nevis, and CARICOM Secretary-General Dr. Carla Barnett. The event will be livestreamed across CARICOM’s social media channels.

From July 6-8, regional leaders will hold working sessions focused on key priorities for the Caribbean.

A closing press conference is set for July 8, 2026. CARICOM will also launch an online knowledge hub with summit details by Wednesday, June 10.

19th CARICOM Road Run/Walk
Ahead of the opening, athletes will join the 19th CARICOM Road Run/Walk in Saint Lucia on July 5. The event brings together professional and amateur runners to promote health, wellness, and the role of sports in improving quality of life across the region.
